专业简介
Students who achieve excellent academic performance in their accounting studies will be eligible to join the Honours year.
The program extends undergraduate studies in financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation. Students undertake advanced coursework and a research thesis. Classes are conducted in a seminar setting. Students will have the opportunity to interact with research active academic staff, engage in the analysis of advanced accounting issues, and develop critical thinking skills.
Students aspiring to the Honours program should consult the Honours Convener in the Research School of Accounting and Business Information Systems for advice. Students from other universities can also apply for entry.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
Judgment
Exercise judgment under minimal supervision to solve emerging or advanced accounting problems in complex contexts using social, ethical, economic, regulatory and global perspectives
Knowledge
Integrate advanced theoretical and technical accounting knowledge which includes a selection of issues in auditing and assurance, finance, economics, quantitative methods, information systems, commercial law, corporation law and taxation law, and with an understanding of issues in accounting development and accounting research
Application Skills
Critically apply advanced theoretical and technical accounting knowledge and skills to solve emerging or advanced accounting problems
Communication and Teamwork Justify and communicate accounting advice and ideas in complex collaborative contexts involving both accountants and non-accountants
Self-Management
Seek and reflect on performance feedback to identify and action learning opportunities and self-improvements and initiate this process for others

Applicants must have completed recognized upper secondary or equivalent studies comparable to Australian Year 12, to the required standard. English Language Requirements: Academic IELTS: An overall score of 6.5 with at least 6 in each component of the test; a score of 570 with TWE score of 4.5 in TOEFL (paper based test); A score of 80, with a minimum of 20 in Reading and Writing and 18 in Speaking and Listening in TOEFL (internet based test); Cambridge CAE (Pre and Post): 58 overall with all sub skills at borderline or higher; 176 overall with at least 169 in all sub skills. PTE Academic Overall 64, minimum score of 55 in each section.

An AQF Level 7 Bachelor Degree, or international equivalent, completed within the last two years:
that satisfies the requirements for the completion of an ANU accounting major or equivalent university study, and
with a weighted average mark equivalent to an ANU 70 per cent calculated from the 36 units (i.e. 0.75 EFTSL) of courses eligible for inclusion in an ANU accounting major or equivalent, excluding 1000-level courses (i.e. introductory undergraduate courses), with the highest marks.
