Feeding nine billion people by 2050 is going to need an agricultural revolution.
La Trobe’s Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences is not just a farming degree. The course combines science with economics to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing future generations, such as increasing food production and reducing environmental impact. You’ll apply your expertise to fields including finance, agribusiness, consulting, government and humanitarian initiatives.
Study subjects in plant science, land and soil management, animal physiology, animal psychology, pest control and groundwater sustainability. Benefit from a range of work placement opportunities and learn in our newly upgraded, state-of-the-art laboratories.

Professional recognition
Graduates of the Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences may apply for membership with Ag Institute Australia. Membership may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.

English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 550 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 64 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 50 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.
