A Deakin Bachelor of Arts degree offers enormous flexibility, allowing you to keep your career options open and design your course around your interests and for maximum employability.
All arts major sequences are taught as a combination of practical and theoretical learning, with many areas of study offering work placements.
One-third of the course may be taken from outside the Faculty of Arts and Education and you may take single, double, or even triple majors, providing numerous course combinations.
Course structure
To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Arts, students must complete 24 credit points.
Overview - International politics
International Politics provides you with an understanding of the global system of states and the major challenges of the international system. You will explore contemporary issues such as human rights, refugees and asylum seekers, terrorism, war, humanitarian responses and development, capitalism, power, diplomacy and the role of the United Nations, the politics of the United States, and the issues facing the Middle East.
Career outcomes
Graduates can expect to gain employment in a wide range of areas including federal defence agencies, foreign affairs departments, immigration departments/consultancies, major corporations, non-government organisations, management consultancies and multicultural associations.

国际学生入学条件
Entry for applicants with recent secondary education (previous three years) will be based on their performance in a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or its equivalent, with pre-requisite units 3 and 4; a study score of at least 25 in English EAL (English as an additional language) or 20 in English other than EAL.
Entry for applicants with previous Tertiary, VET, life or work experience will be based on their performance in:
A Certificate IV in a related discipline OR
A Diploma in any discipline or 50% completion of a Diploma in a related discipline OR
Successful completion of relevant study at an accredited higher education institution equivalent to at least two Deakin University units OR
Other evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent for example relevant work or life experience
IELTS overall score of 6 (with no band score less than 6) or equivalent; Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (Internet-based Test - IBT): 65, Writing 21; TOEFL (Paper-based Test - PBT): 550, Writing 4.5; Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) (formerly known as Certificate of Proficiency in English): 169, no band less than 169; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): 169, no band less than 169; Pearson’s Test of English (Academic) (PTE): 52, No less than 50 in each skill; Occupational English Test (OET) (for Health related award course entry only): Overall C; SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) English 1119 (accepted at least 5 years prior to enrolment at Deakin): C.
