专业简介

The Bachelor of Pre-Medicine, Science and Health is a three-year undergraduate degree providing a solid foundation to pursue graduate medicine, dentistry, veterinary studies, optometry, podiatry or physiotherapy. Depending on which major/minor you choose, this course will also have a wide range of other postgraduate study or professional career options available in the physical and life sciences, allied health or health informatics. High performing students from a diverse range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Unique to the course is a Foundations for GAMSAT subject in the first year. This subject will explore core content for medical school entry including academic literacy, critical thinking skills and an understanding of what it takes to be a successful health practitioner. It provides an excellent understanding of, and preparation for, the GAMSAT exam. Extracurricular activities outside of the classroom will demonstrate your leadership, dedication and cooperation. From first year in the course you will have opportunities to participate in a wide range of volunteer and enrichment activities in the community. These will assist you in developing real-world skills and a readiness for a career in health and medicine. Course Learning Outcomes Students graduating from the Bachelor of Pre-Medicine, Science and Health will be able to: Evaluate and review critically broad and coherent knowledge in the principles and concepts associated with evidence-based medical science and health practice and research. Recognise and respond to the principles and concepts associated with professional practice (including legal and ethical practice). Critically review, analyse, interpret, synthesise and create information. Exercise critical thinking, reflective practice and independent problem solving. Communicate concepts and ideas clearly and coherently to others. Demonstrate skills in working effectively in interdisciplinary teams. Apply knowledge of the principles and concepts associated with medical related scientific research. Evaluate how medicine, science and health knowledge and skills can be applied in professional practice. 为来自中国的学生设计 UOW recognizes secondary qualifications from more than 40 countries and education systems, including GCE A levels, International Baccalaureate and SAT, and can assess students who have completed the equivalent of Australian high school (Year 12) for direct entry to the first year of a Bachelor degree. English language requirements: IELTS - 6.0; TOEFL - 79, Pearson PTE - 57. 国际学生入学条件 Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia. In order to succeed in their chosen course, it is assumed they have completed relevant subjects in their senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications. This is particularly important for degrees which have a strong basis in Mathematics or Science. IELTS Academic Overall Score of 6.5, reading 6.0, writing 6.0, listening 6.0, speaking 6.0; TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 88, reading 18, writing 18, listening 18, speaking 18; Cambridge English: CAE and CPE score of 176; PTE Academic overall score of 64 (Minimum communicative skill score of 57).
