Graduate sooner with USQ’s Master of Psychology/PhD (Clinical Psychology) combined degree. In just four years, you can become a fully qualified psychologist with 1200 hours experience and two degrees.
Through your studies, you will become a specialist Psychologist with an in-depth knowledge to tackle emerging and current themes in the mental wellbeing of your clients. Including course work, research and practical experience, your studies will allow you to explore topics including individual and group clinical intervention, diagnostic interview skills in complex clinical presentations and expert research skills in interpretation and analysis.
Professional accreditation
As a graduate of the Master of Psychology / PhD (Clinical Psychology) you can apply for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, and full membership to the Australian Psychological Society.
In addition, you can apply for Clinical Psychology endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia after a period of supervised practice, and admission to the College of Clinical Psychology of the Australian Psychological Society after a period of supervised practice.
Career outcomes
Your psychology degree will allow you to be a psychologist fully qualified as a specialist in clinical psychology and health psychology. Or you can continue your research ambitions with an academic career.

Students must have Bachelor degree with 1st class/2nd class (2A) honours or a master’s degree with a significant research component or other postgraduate qualifications. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.5 (or better)(no component lower than 6.0); TOEFL (paper based) - 570 (with a minimum Test of Written English score TWE 5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 230 (with an essay rating of at least 5); TOEFL (internet based) - 90 (or better) (with 20 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 58 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 58); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE) with a score of 176 or above. No less than 169 in each skill.

Applicants for admission must have successfully completed the first year of the Master of Psychology (Clinical), or other APAC accredited degree, with a GPA of 6.0 or higher, and submit a dissertation proposal.
The entry requirements for the Master of Psychology (Clinical) are:
demonstrate achievement of a minimum of Second Class Honours Division A in an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)-accredited 4-year honours program or equivalent.
