The Graduate Certificate in International Public Health provides preparation for work in international and aid organisations.
Program Structure
Students must complete 24 UOC as a standalone program.
1. Compulsory courses - 6 UOC
2. International Health elective courses - 18 UOC
Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate application of sociocultural and political awareness of the diverse cultural settings, entities and policy agendas influencing global health and critically analyse complex and interrelated factors shaping health trends at local, national and international levels, as well as globally.
Demonstrate capacity to initiate, plan, implement and/or evaluate projects and/or programs in a range of international public health contexts to improve specific population health outcomes informed by current theoretical debates, methodologies and scholarly evidence.
Demonstrate multidisciplinary ways of working and high level skills in communicating, working in teams and advocacy to enhance public health outcomes within international health settings and in a global context.
Demonstrate understanding of current global health developments and perspectives and their implications for productively working locally, and across communities, agencies and national boundaries.
Demonstrate capacity to engage in scholarly inquiry, ethical commitment and critical reflective practice for informing professional practice in international public health.

English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); TOEFL - Paper-based Test (PBT) 577 overall (min. 5.0 in TWE); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) - 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) - 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest).

Applicants are required to have either:
An undergraduate degree in a field relevant to public health or health management (see list below)* and two years full-time professional or volunteer experience. This may also include equivalent professional experience acquired as part of a degree of 4 or more years duration (e.g. MBBS, MD)
OR
An undergraduate degree plus an honours or postgraduate degree in a field relevant to public health or health management (see list below)*
*Examples include, but are not restricted to, medicine, nursing, allied health, health sciences, biomedical sciences, dentistry, social work, sociology, behavioural and social sciences, psychology, marketing, human services, emergency services, environmental health, veterinary science, health administration, business, management, engineering, law, science, mathematics and statistics, economics, policy studies and development studies.

UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest)
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest)
