Our Bachelor of Science with a Second Major in Preventive Health focuses on promoting individual and community health and wellbeing. Throughout your degree you will develop a clear understanding of how social and other health determinants impact health and wellbeing as well as the effectiveness of socio-environmental, population and community approaches to health promotion. Preventive Health is offered as a Second Major within our Bachelor of Science program, but you might consider taking a Bachelor of Preventive Health if you want to focus on this area alone. Upon graduation, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of fields, including health promotion, education and community development. You will also be required to complete a Science Research project which provides the opportunity for you to specialise in a particular area of interest and to develop additional fieldwork and problem-solving skills. Work Integrated Learning: As part of the Bachelor of Science degree you will be required undertake a Science Internship. This is a six-week industry placement in an area of employment related to your studies which can lead to valuable contacts and employment opportunities.
