This two year program is designed for those with an approved undergraduate degree looking to qualify as a secondary school teacher. See Program Details for entry requirements. Learn to cooperatively and critically plan, design, implement and review teaching programs, including developing teaching and learning strategies and curriculum materials. Participate in practical, school-based learning drawing from the latest research into effective teaching methods, and complete 75 days of supervised professional experience placements throughout the program. Develop your passion for teaching with a program that encourages active engagement with local and global communities to promote continuing enhancement of learning for the benefit of all.
Career outcomes
Graduates are eligible to apply for registration as a teacher in Queensland and to work as a secondary school teacher in state and independent schools in Australia and worldwide.
With further study and experience, this program can lead to roles as a head of department, principal, guidance officer, learning support teacher or student adviser.
If you choose to undertake a specialisation in music or a language other than English (Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Spanish), there is also the opportunity to work in primary school education.

Applicants must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale and four years full-time work experience post-graduation including at least two of the four years full-time work experience gained while working in a dedicated supervisory/management role as approved by the Executive Dean; OR Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from UQ or equivalent with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale. International applicants must complete the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) with a minimum score of 550. English language requirements: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; or TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; or TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; or PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section; or CAE/CPE: Overall Cambridge English Scale (CES) score of 176 with a minimum score of 169 in each skill; or BEP: A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all four macro skills.
国际学生入学条件
An approved bachelor degree with a minimum GPA 4.5 from an approved tertiary institution that meets the requirements for two teaching areas of the secondary curriculum in Australian schools. Students will be required to submit a statement addressing non-academic criteria.
