This program is designed for professionals currently working or looking to work in the field of project management. It is particularly relevant for professionals looking to take the next step in their career.
This program emphasizes the practical application of theory to develop your capacity to respond to current and emerging issues and trends. You will critically engage with project management theory and best practice principles, and evaluate and implement project management strategies using real world project based examples.
Electives and program structure
The Graduate Certificate in Project Management comprises 4 courses. These courses are designed to enable you to develop your critical knowledge of project management theories and concepts.
Career
After graduating, you will be able to work as a project management professional and apply your capability and expertise to diverse organizations and industries, including construction and property. This program will provide you with a foundation to further develop your project management capability through your professional practice and/or further study.
Graduates are encouraged to progress to the Graduate Diploma in Project Management offered at the Melbourne City campus and online.

Further study
When you successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Project Management you are guaranteed entry into the Graduate Diploma in Project Management with 1 semester of advanced standing (equivalent to 48 credit points).
Alternatively, you may be eligible for entry into other RMIT postgraduate programs.

Applicants must have completed a bachelor degree requiring at least four years of full-time study in a relevant discipline awarded with honours. The degree should include a research component comprised of a thesis, other research projects or research methodology courses that constitute at least 25% of a full-time academic year (or part-time equivalent). The applicant must have achieved at least a distinction average in the final year; or a master degree that includes a research component comprised of at least 25% of a full-time academic year (or part-time equivalent) with an overall distinction average or a master degree without a research component with at least a high distinction average. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (no band less than 6.0); TOEFL (Paper Based Test) score of 580 (TWE* 4.5); TOEFL (Internet Based Test – iBT): Overall score 92 with minimum of 20 in all sections; Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): 58 (no communication band less than 50); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component.

You must have successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline.
You may also be considered if you do not have an undergraduate degree but have a minimum of 5 years professional work experience in a related industry or professional experience at a senior level that is less than 5 years.

To study this program you will need to complete one of the following English proficiency tests:
IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 6.5 (with no individual band below 6.0)
TOEFL (Paper Based Test): minimum score of 580 (TWE 4.5)
TOEFL (Internet Based Test - IBT): minimum overall score of 92 (with minimum of 20 in all sections)
Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): minimum score of 58 (with no communication band less than 50)
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): minimum of 176 with no less than 169 in any component.
