Create healthy workplaces Massey’s Bachelor of Health Science (Integrated Human Health) will give you a broad and applied knowledge of the impact of biological and environmental factors on health. Make a difference to the nation’s health Health is complex – it’s important to have an appreciation of the multifactorial nature of health if we want to improve health outcomes for ourselves and our communities. This major takes an integrated approach to understanding the latest science of good health. You’ll explore a range of factors that determine human health, including sleep, exercise, nutrition, genetics and the environment. Gain vital knowledge and skills in the relevant human bioscience areas to understand the impact of these crucial factors on body function and their vital role in achieving and maintaining good health. You’ll also learn about intervention and prevention strategies and their role in improving health outcomes. Develop your workplace skills A key feature of this major is a Health in Action project in your third year. You’ll work in a small group and apply your health knowledge to a practical case project to try to make a positive impact in the community. This will also develop your leadership and teamwork skills. When you enter the workplace, you’ll be able to apply your knowledge to create strategies to enhance the health and wellbeing of the population. Employment opportunities include working on health and wellbeing initiatives in: Local health authorities Local and national governments Schools and universities Corporate companies Charities and funding bodies Research institutes Health and fitness centers Bachelor of Health Science structure The Bachelor of Health Science (BHlthSc) is a 360 credit (equivalent to 3-years full time study) undergraduate qualification which offers students the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the maintenance and enhancement of the health and well-being of individuals and communities both nationally and internationally. Students are required to take the 8 core courses and a major.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have completed New Zealand secondary school qualification or other equivalent overseas qualification. English Language Requirements: IELTS score of 5.0 (no band less than 5.0). TOEFL iBT score of 61 overall (min 17 in Reading & Writing). PTE Academic score of 36 Overall (min 36 in communicative skills). Cambridge English score of 155. 国际学生入学条件 Students must have successful completion of a qualification equivalent to the New Zealand Year 13 - NCEA Level 3 University Entrance. International students need to check the equivalency of their secondary school qualification by reviewing the Academic Admission Requirements by Country. Computer literacy is recommended. If you do not have a Science or Mathematics background, you can get a head start in your studies by taking foundation courses in Science or Mathematics. Students from a country where English is not the first language, must obtain a minimum English Language competency level.
