This course combines study of materials engineering with human anatomy, physiology and cell biology. You'll learn about the healthcare applications of materials. Modules look at repairing the body from disease and injury using medical devices, compatible materials and tissue biology approaches. You'll learn how to choose the best material for uses within the body, in the context of applications in both research and industry.  The learning and assessment percentages could vary depending on the modules you choose. A career in materials science and engineering can take many forms, and can take you into the technical or business area you want, in the part of the world where you want to work. Our graduates are in demand and well paid. They work for international companies in a variety of industrial sectors including aerospace, automotive, healthcare, construction, sports and energy.
