This course provides you with an excellent and rigorous education exploring the processes which lie behind social change, as well as the ideas and ideals driving those processes. Your time here will be rich, stimulating and enjoyable, and you will graduate as an independently-minded, confident individual with the skills required for a successful career. It explores human nature, the relationship between the individual and society, and the nature of social institutions from two, mutually complementary, perspectives. It allows you to design your own path of study by choosing from a wide and varied selection of modules ranging from Existentialism to The Ethics of Belief, from Migration in a Globalising World to The Sociology of Youth. We offer the chance to explore topics in other subject areas, whether in the Humanities, the Social Sciences, or the Sciences, which will both broaden and deepen your knowledge and understanding. You will also have the opportunity to spend a semester, a year or a summer at one of our international partner universities in Asia, Europe, and the Americas to experience a new culture.
