Throughout this course, you will enjoy a wide range of core and optional modules covering various elements of American studies and history in detail. Within American studies, you will focus particularly on America within the context of its journey to becoming a superpower and its influence on the world stage culturally and politically, a hotly debated topic and fascinating area in which to gain expertise. The history element of this course complements this well, putting your American studies into context via the study of a range of regions and eras. At the end of your second year, you will have the option to transfer onto a four-year variation of this course, which includes a year spent studying at an American or Canadian institution.
