This degree offers you the opportunity to study the closely related disciplines of Law and Sociology in a three-year programme, with a pathway enabling you to obtain to Qualifying Law Degree (giving you the ability to progress to the next stage of legal training in England and Wales). Covering the foundations of law alongside compulsory and optional modules in Sociology (taught by our outstanding School of Sociology, Social Policy and Social Research), you develop an understanding of the law, taught from a critical perspective which allows you to engage in informed debate about contemporary legal issues, and a sophisticated understanding of the complex global world in which we live, and the social forces, identities and media that shape our lives.

For entry to a Kent undergraduate degree programme, Chinese students typically need to have completed – the first year of a Bachelor degree (Xueshi) with an average grade of at least 75% or equivalent from a 211 university, or 80% from other recognised institutions. Students from China with a wide variety of qualifications and experiences will be considered. Some departments may have slightly different entry criteria.
