The MSc Business with Financial Management with Advanced Practice programme will give students both the general business knowledge and understanding as well as the personal skills needed for a wide variety of roles. This programme is run as part of our Newcastle Business School, part of an elite group of business schools holding the double AACSB accreditation. Held by only 1% of business schools globally, this accreditation reflects the calibre of our courses and teaching, supported by our global reputation for delivering some of the best business management education in the UK. This option offers the opportunity to spend three months gaining all-important work experience and employability skills in a professional work setting. You may be able to extend this over more than one semester in cases where it is adjacent to a vacation period. Support is provided to help source opportunities and to perfect the applicant CV but ultimately the onus is on the student to secure the internship position. Upon successful completion of your programme, you may be eligible for the QA Professional Pathways programmes which will enable you to further develop your skills with one of the UK’s largest providers of IT and project management training. If you undertake an internship as your Advanced Practice stage, it may be paid or unpaid, and will last 12-15 weeks. The internship can be sourced by students or the University. You will be taught through a mix of lectures, seminars and workshops to enable you to grow your knowledge of the business world. You will also be expected to engage in further independent study, involving directed and self-directed learning, to further build your knowledge. Significant emphasis is placed on developing your ability to complete a Masters degree. As part of your induction you will be made fully familiar with the learning resources and support available to you. There will also be weekly academic support sessions designed to build your confidence and ability as a postgraduate learner. You will also be allocated an individual guidance tutor at induction. You will meet this tutor at regular intervals across your period of study. Assessment for this programme takes place through group work, assignments and presentations giving you multiple methods for you to show your understanding of the course material. Upon successfully completing your course, you may undertake further professional development and training through Professional Pathways programmes. These are offered to our graduates for free, from our partner, QA.
