This course develops the skills, knowledge and confidence to operate effectively in roles within international brands, multinational companies, global financial markets and new business ventures. As the course progresses, you can choose to generalise or specialise in areas such as marketing and finance, thanks to high flexibility in your final two years on this course. You also have the opportunity to extend your degree by carrying out a work placement in your third year. Previous students have completed placements with companies including Rolls-Royce, Ford, IBM, Microsoft, EY, Nestlé and Accenture. As a WBS student you will have access to Careers Plus, who provide a range of individual and group sessions and interventions to help you source a placement or summer internship. You will be assessed through a combination of end of year examinations and on-going assessments, which may include essays, research assignments, projects, case study analysis, class tests, presentations and group work. Our dedicated WBS Careers Plus team provides specialised careers services solely for WBS students including: 1-2-1 careers coaching; Career planning and preparation workshops; Employer events and Work placements and internships. We organise and facilitate employer events on summer internships, year-in-industry placements and graduate opportunities. We also host employer-led skills workshops and run informal networking sessions. Bespoke employer events organised specifically for our students have seen the likes of EY, L’Oréal, Aldi, Johnson & Johnson, Royal Bank of Scotland, Grant Thornton UK LLP, Accenture and Aston Martin visit WBS, providing students with great networking opportunities and links to top local, national and international brands.
